Forensic DNA Services, the Norwich based supplier of forensic DNA services to UK police forces, officially unveiled its new laboratories and offices this week at the city’s Research Park.
Customers and staff were in attendance as the company’s chairman and former Chief Inspector of Constabulary, Lord Dear, was on hand to welcome guests and introduce them to the new facilities. Funding for Forensic DNA Services was provided through the commercial offices of the NatWest team in Norwich. Forensic DNA Services was established 12 months ago as a joint venture with Key Forensic. The companies provide a comprehensive range of DNA and forensic services to police forces throughout the UK, including forensic kits for the recovery of evidence and logistics. The company attained approval by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) and CAS (Custodian Accreditation Service), to profile DNA samples and submit them to the NDNAD (National DNA Database) – one of only a few companies permitted to do so. Chris Whattam, CEO of Forensic DNA Services: “These are excellent new premises for our business. Our staff have years of experience working in the forensic field. “Their endeavours and our brand new facilities, endorses Forensic DNA Services as a leading provider in a market that demands absolute integrity and professionalism.” Lord Dear said the “superb new facilities” would enable DNA Services to provide police forces throughout the UK “with a specialised and professional service.” |
