A Babraham-based supplier of reagent kits that could revolutionise immunodiagnostics has attracted a further £100k of funding to develop its product pipeline. Innova BioSciences aims to broaden its product range, which includes the Lightning-Link family of conjugation products, which slash the amount of research time, increasing scientists’ ability to characterise new disease diagnosis targets. Innova’s products and services for joining molecules, which have major applications in the diagnostics and hospital sectors are backed up by supplemental niche products used in the pharmaceutical, veterinary and academic sectors. The funding was led by Aitua – formerly Babraham BioConcepts – and backed up by an existing agreement with Innova Partnerships. Dr Tony Sedgewick, former CEO of Cambridge University spin-out, DanioLabs, has also been appointed non-executive chairman of the firm, while Aitua CEO, Dr Catherine Beech joined the board. Innova’s CEO, Dr Nick Gee said: “With their input, experience, and market knowledge, I believe we can now build Innova into a world class developer of novel diagnostics technologies.” |
