Sloane Helicopters of Northampton is pushing out to the Emerald Isle with the opening of a new facility to service clients across Ireland.

A recruitment and training plan is in progress to increase the number of licensed engineers from the current three to six within the next 12 months, boosting the capacity up to 11,000 maintenance hours per year. Sloane already employs 65 people at Sywell Aerodrome, Northampton.

Based at St Angelo Airport, Enniskillen, the new hangar has been purpose built and extends over a footprint of 12,900 sq ft.

Sloane MD, Jeremy Awenat said: “This project has been a major step for the company. It represents a significant commitment to providing our Irish-based customers with a maintenance facility offering a high standard of service backed by the company’s headquarter resources and underpinned through its service centre agreements and close relationships with the helicopter manufacturers”

Development of the project was aided by Invest NI and Fermanagh District Council through funding provided under the European Regional Development Fund, matched by the Council.

Sloane Helicopters Limited is the distributor for Agusta and Robinson Helicopters in the UK and Ireland.
