| First half brings satisfying results for Domino and Porvair |

Bar Hill-based Domino Printing Sciences has announced a £600k increase in pre-tax profits for the first half of the year on the back of a 12 per cent growth in revenues. In another first half report, King's Lynn-based filtration specialist Porvair has reported that lower expenses have boosted pre-tax profits by over 60 per cent.
The inkjet printing firm said that pre-tax profit for the six months to the end of April had grown to £14.6m, while revenues rose to £112m. “We have released an extensive series of new products across most areas of our business. We are pleased with their initial success. We plan to launch further new products during the remainder of 2007,” said chairman Peter Byrom. The firm's shares showed marginal growth to 330p. The filtration and environmental technology group said that despite a slight decrease in revenues to £22.9m, profits before taxation rose from £900k to £1.5m for the six months to the end of May. “The year is progressing well and in line with management's expectations,” said CEO Ben Stocks. Shares in Porvair are up very slightly at 133.5p. |
