Stevenage-based electronic components distributor, Avnet Time has acquired Interconnect, Passive and Electromechanical (IP&E) distributor, Flint Distribution, giving the combined firm annual revenues in excess of £21m.
Avnet said that the purchase, the financial details of which were undisclosed, was part of growth plans for IP&E in the country, with Flint's base in Coalville, Leicestershire, becoming the new centre of operations.
Flint is an independent specialist electronic component distributors in IP&E products, with customers in EMS, security, instrumentation, automation and industrial controls.
Flint's co-founder and managing director, Carl Barton will head up the enlarged UK and Ireland operations, while Avnet Time's UK manager, Vince Clark, will take care of sales for the area.
"By leaving both the Coalville operation and the Stevenage sales office intact, customers will enjoy the stronger market presence of Avnet Time and Flint combined, as well as the benefit of Flints unrivalled customer service," said Clark. |
