Alteon to close in Luton

Boeing aviation training subsidiary, Alteon Training, is to close its Luton academy by the middle of next year as part of a global restructure which includes the closing of three further centres and redistribution of training devices. The Bedfordshire town loses out to Gatwick and Manchester which will see an expansion of their own training capabilities, while a new training centre will open in Shanghai, housing the first Boeing 787 full-flight simulator in China.
