06.Can you hint at how you plan to develop the technology or the service going forwards?
Babel TVs are designed to co-operate across the home network, so we will launch devices and services that are optimised for the bedroom, kitchen etc.
.
07.How does this venture rank in terms of your hopes for it against the myriad other projects you have been involved with over the years?
People really get excited when I show them Babel TV, They tell me their horror stories of losing whole years of family photos, of buying new PCs every year because the old one had got slow etc. I've never had such an easy sell for one of my businesses. I can also see Babel TV opening as many business ideas as the Internet has. For instance, with Babel TV anyone can launch a 'Babel' TV channel delivering TV over the Internet.
.
08.You are often described as an internet pioneer. How would you characterise its overall state of health at the moment?
Critical. However, it has ALWAYS been critical! The engineers seem to stave off disaster moments before collapse time after time. I just hope our luck holds!
.
09.What elements of your past experience have you brought to bear in getting DaweVision to where it is today?
All of it!
.
10.In the past you have been closely involved in the development of Cambridge's infrastructure. How are things shaping up, in your opinion?
Cambridge is anarchy, there has been no strategic planning for decades, and there is no strong leadership to fix it. The 'Movers and Shakers' are too cowardly to support Walter Herriot's offer to stand as an elected mayor, so there is no hope. I moved away from Cambridge 5 years ago, and now travel to London more often than Cambridge.
