There is "no question of redundancies" at manufacturer LPA Group, following its decision to sell its Saffron Walden site, according to a spokesman for the company.LPA, which employs 60 at the base, manufacturing electrical components for the rail industry, said it plans to find a new facility in the vicinity of Saffron Walden to house the operation. Having recently experienced delays with two large orders, the spokesman said that LPA would take advantage of the "gap in the order book" by seeking buyers for the valuable 1.4 acre plot. LPA has already received an offer of £2.2m for the plot - which is located in the heart of a residential area - but having appointed property consultant, King Sturge, LPA is confident it can realise more for the site.In addition to marketing the site, King Sturge is also responsible for finding potential sites for the relocation of the operation. Saffron Walden is one of the most sought-after residential areas in the region, with the average price of a two-bedroom house currently standing at £210,00. |
