Leading regional law firm Howes Percival has reported a 21.5 per cent increase in turnover at the end of its half-year period. The announcement coincides with news that 22 new members of staff have been appointed to its Norwich office in the last four months. The firm, which was shortlisted earlier this year for Litigation Team of the Year at The Lawyer Awards, has offices in Leicester, Northampton and Milton Keynes as well as Norwich. The half-year results show growth in fee income from all four offices and in all areas of work. The Norwich office has taken on new recruits in its Commercial Litigation, Estates, Employment and Commercial Property departments. Andrew Barnes, managing partner of Howes Percival’s Norwich office said: “The firm as a whole has started the year strongly and we have performed well in all of our core disciplines. “The Norwich office has seen an increase in instructions from both existing and new clients resulting in the expansion of our Commercial Litigation and Commercial Property teams in particular. “We have also experienced very high demand for specialist services such as Estates tax and trust planning, because of our level of technical expertise and breadth of knowledge. Our reputation in this area means we have attracted a good deal of new work both nationally and locally. “We have also seen a growth in demand from businesses for advice on employment matters due to the continuing changes in employment law and we have strengthened our team by bringing in talented expertise from London.” |
