US Helicopter will fly Eos' passengers over the NY traffic
In an effort to distinguish itself from the business-only crowd, luxury carrier, Eos has started offering its passengers the chance to soar above the notorious NY traffic in free helicopter transfers from Manhattan to JFK.
In a move which changes the company from a simple airline to a "lifestyle choice" according to its marketing head, it has signed a partnership agreement with US Helicopter providing a helicopter service between Manhattan and JFK International Airport for its London-bound passengers.
Eos said that passengers reserving unrestricted tickets aboard Eos will be offered complimentary helicopter transfer from locations at Downtown Manhattan Heliport (Wall Street) or East 34th Street Heliport.
Following the eight minute flight to JFK, 'guests' will be greeted by an Eos Guide and escorted to the Lounge or directly to their flight, with security clearance and baggage check being completed at the heliport.
“Eos is not simply an airline, it’s a lifestyle choice,” commented Adam Komack, 'chief lifestyle officer' for Eos.
“As we grow, we will continue to provide products, services and experiences that authentically complement our Guests’ lifestyle before, during and after they travel on our planes.”
The new helicopter service complements other amenities offered by Eos such as limousines and day rooms, it said.
The service will set Eos apart from the rest of the business class-only market, which despite losing one of its number over the Christmas period, is set to become more competitive, with airline giants BA and Virgin reportedly making an entry.
US Helicopter also announced a similar agreement with Delta Airlines in May last year, offering a shuttle service to JFK, but not on a complimentary basis.
