East of England biotech collaboration

Argenta Discovery has signed an agreement with fellow East of England biotech, NeuroSolutions to "gain preferential access to its specialist electrophysiology and hERG testing services and expertise." 

The collaboration, says Argenta, will enable it to provide its contract research clients with an expanded assay development and screening resource.

Dr. Christopher Ashton, CEO of Argenta Discovery said, "Argenta has been looking at ways of enhancing its biochemistry and in vitro screening capabilities.

"Argenta has a number of contract research programmes in the pipeline for 2008 which will benefit from NeuroSolutions’ support and expertise."

Neurosolutions is based in Cambridge, while Argenta employs 160 across its bases in Harlow, Welwyn and Slough.

In parallel to running its service business, Neurosolutions is also running its own internal R&D and has a pipeline of programmes underway for the treatment of pain.
