 Cranfield-based Trafficmaster said that following a strong operating performance in the first half, trading continued to improve in the second half of the year and operating profit for the full year is anticipated to be in line with expectations.

It also said that its subsidiary, Teletrac continues to expand its sales team and presence in the US experiencing record revenues in the fourth quarter of 2007.

It said that its vehicle products team has continued to focus on OEM partnerships, expanding the Citroen standard fit programme, along with continuing relationships with Mitsubishi and Hyundai. The team was also being appointed by BMW, UK's largest retailer of stolen vehicle tracking systems, as its approved stolen vehicle tracking provider from January 2008.

"We continue to develop successfully the service side of our business and this has been reflected in a significant improvement in gross margins in 2007," said CEO, Tony Eales.

"We believe Trafficmaster is in a strong position, supported by significant contract wins in 2007, and will continue to grow profitably in 2008."

Shares in the firm have seen marginal growth, rising one per cent to 40.75p.
