Lotus Engineering is helping Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, identify advanced technologies to further cut its carbon footprint.
The Norfolk firm has joined forces with the Mubadala Development Company to pinpoint ‘green’ technologies that can accelerate the development of Abu Dhabi’s manufacturing and business infrastructure. Activities will focus on reducing ‘well to wheel’ CO2 emissions through the use of advanced lightweight materials and hybrid technologies, supporting Abu Dhabi’s low carbon footprint philosophy and addressing the environmental imperatives facing the automotive industry globally. Lotus CEO Mike Kimberley said: “Potential investments in the future of the worldwide automotive and associated industries can harness Abu Dhabi’s abundant natural resources and further support the achievement of Mubadala’s key strategic objective of diversifying and developing the city’s rapidly growing economy.”
