| Asterand's shares go short on Long's resignation |

![]() Former board member, Long The Royston-based firm announced that its senior independent director, Ron Long, has resigned with immediate effect after seven years with the company. Mr Long joined the board of Pharmagene in February 2001 and continued to serve as senior independent director of the company following the merger with Asterand in January 2006. "We have been very fortunate to benefit from Ron's experience, insight and vision for several years," said Asterand's chairman, David Lee. "He has made a substantial difference to the development of the business. We wish Ron well for the future." Shares in the company have dipped considerably with the news, losing over seven per cent, or 0.4p to 4.75p.
