Air's shares soar on approach

DVD sales have become 80 per cent of Air's distribution business
The recent turnaround in fortunes for home entertainment product distributor, Air Music and Media, which saw DVD sales carry the company out of the doldrums last year, may have prompted interest in the company, after it announced that an indicative approach had been made, ballooning its share price by 36 per cent.

Shares in the Herts-based firm have soared to 79p on the news, continuing their climb since the company released favourable third quarter results at the beginning of February.

The company said that the approach, from an undisclosed party, may or may not lead to an offer being made for Air, but that its board will 'continue to evaluate all possible options for delivering value to shareholders.'

It added that it released a statement in response to movement in the company's share price, and that a further announcement will be made in due course.

Shares in air have risen 36 per cent, or 21p to 79p.
