Park Air Systems, the Peterborough subsidiary of $32bn global defence and technology company, Northrop Grumman, has completed the first major digital installation for the UK’s leading air traffic control provider, NATS (formerly National Air Traffic Services).
The $35 million installation is part of a major modernisation programme that follows the four-year relocation of NATS air traffic control operations for the London Terminal Control area, a transition that involved the move of more than 500 air traffic controllers and engineers and the upgrade of all communications equipment.
