Norfolk veterinary group, CVS, has acquired the small animal and equine business of Animed LLP in Hampshire under a £1.6 million all cash deal.
The practice employs 13 vets among a total of 41 employees across five local branches serving South Hampshire and is becomes the 146th surgery within the CVS group. In the year ended 31 March 2007 the practice generated an operating profit of £363k on turnover of £2.58m. Meanwhile in its first interim results since floating on AIM in October 2007, CVS announced revenues of £28.5m for the six months ended 31 December 2007, a massive 74.6 per cent increase on its 2006 figure of £16.3m. While these figures, including a £1.6m pre tax loss for the period (H1 2006: £867k), reflect the number of acquisitions made in the period, like for like revenue growth was still 5.4 per cent.
