Filtration specialist, Porvair has announced its £1m purchase of specialist engineering firm, Toolturn as part of the company's strategy to support growth in demand for its aviation filtration products.
The King's Lynn-based firm said that the total consideration for the engineering company, a key supplier to Porvair's subsidiary, Microfiltrex, would total £1m, to be spread over three years. It said that it expects the transaction to be marginally earnings accretive immediately, given that the high proportion of sales to Microfiltrex in Toolturn's revenues mean that much of revenue acquired will be eliminated on consolidation. The filtration and environmental technology group said that its aviation filtration sales at Porvair have grown by more than 40 per cent over the last two years, and it has recently opened a new manufacturing facility to meet the increased demand. It said that the upgraded facilities, along with the additional engineering capabilities at Toolturn, will allow the group to improve its service to customers and meet their growth expectations. "The acquisition of Toolturn Engineering and the move to the new production facilities greatly improves our ability to serve our growing aerospace filtration business," said Porvair's CEO, Ben Stocks. "We have worked closely with Toolturn for a number of years. Skills of this quality are increasingly hard to find in parts of the UK and we are confident that Toolturn will be a valuable addition to the Porvair group." Shares in the company remain unchanged at 107p.
