An Indian company promoting ancient medicine in the western world has launched a new centre in Milton Keynes hot on the heels of opening in the Big Apple. Having launched ayurvedic centres in New York and New Jersey during the last six months, Santhigram Group of Companies – headquartered in New Delhi – has opened a specialised centre at Bradville, Milton Keynes. Gopinathan Nair, MD of the group, has unfolded a strategy to set up a series of such centres in various parts of UK in the coming years. Santhigram has provided ISO 9001:2000 certified ayurvedic therapies in India for more than 10 years and is spreading these across the world. It has been providing consultancy services for Ayurvedic Centres throughout the western world for the last five years. Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine that addresses to "bodily infirmity" and also encourages social, spiritual, emotional and psychological well being. The new centre will specialise in Kerala specific ayurvedic rejuvenation and panchakarma therapies . Panchakarma is a complete therapeutic regime that identifies so-called "doshas," or the imbalances in the body that arise due to pathological conditions and detoxifies the body with therapeutic massages and procedures using specific herbal oils, strict dietary and life style changes. The company says its centres use genuine herbal oils and other ayurvedic products that not only have rejuvenative and preventive value but also help to alleviate certain ailments like backache, spondylitis, frozen shoulder, arthritis, joint pains, migraine, sinusitis, stress, depression, insomnia and obesity without any side effects.
