Law firm Birketts has made its mark on the end of the tax year with its three corporate teams in Ipswich, Cambridge and Norwich completing in excess of 25 corporate deals with values totalling over £165 million in the six weeks to the end of the old tax year. Many of the deals involve well known names in the eastern region. Adrian Seagers and Nick Burt acted for Key Capital Partners, the Cambridge-based private equity group, in the acquisition of Pandora Books. Annette Whybrow led the team acting for Williams & Griffin in the sale of its Colchester high street store to Fenwick for a sum which remains confidential. “We are starting the new tax year with the same drive and determination as we finished the previous one” commented James Austin, head of the corporate team.
