Striking accord: Accord Healthcare has taken 22,220 sq ft at Homefield Business Park and will soon have a further 10,000 sq ft facility An Indian-owned global healthcare group has taken a new 22,220 sq ft
building at Homefield Business Park, Haverhill, for immediate
occupation and ordered a further 10,000 sq ft of accommodation to be
built on an adjoining site.
It will be occupied by Accord Heathcare Limited, a 100 per cent owned marketing subsidiary of Intas Pharmaceuticals Limited, of India. East of England International in Cambridge worked with the company to find the ideal space to grow from this region.
Intas is one of India’s fastest-growing healthcare companies, engaged in manufacturing, research and development.
With a presence in 42 countries, the company has also ventured successfully into high-growth areas of animal healthcare, oncology and biotech.
With a UK base in London and worldwide sales of more than £100 million, the firm chose Haverhill because of the good access to London and the east coast ports. The company will use the Haverhill facility for packaging and distributing pharmaceutical products.
Philip Woolner of Cheffins Commercial says: “This sale completes the main development of the scheme which includes Figleaves-.com, the internet lingerie firm, which took a 36,000 sq ft unit and Sigma Aldrich which occupies a state of the art 20,000 sq ft unit.
The development by LEA Investments has been particularly successful, attracting international businesses to Haverhill which offers a price incentive over Cambridge.”
Developer Angus Bates of LEA Investments is thrilled with the latest arrival: “We have been successful in attracting a number of large occupiers to Homefield Business Park. The location of the park is excellent, having direct access onto the Haverhill Bypass.
“In addition we have offered competitive, flexible deals on good quality buildings built to time, in attractive surroundings and with a CB postcode area for a multitude of uses. Its location offers good road links with easy access to Cambridge and London.”
Nearby, on a corner plot, LEA is developing facilities for a veterinary surgery, a child day care facility and an office unit.
Joint agents for Homefield Business Park are Cheffins Commercial and London-based Gerald Eve.
