Lawyers of Arabia as Eversheds expands

News - Legal

Cambridge-based international law firm Eversheds continues to expand in emerging markets with the opening of a Saudi presence.

Hani Qurashi Law Firm in cooperation with Eversheds LLP will operate from establishments in both Jeddah and Riyadh.

Eversheds’ cooperation in Saudi is a key part of the expansion of the firm’s presence in the Gulf region. Eversheds already has offices in Doha and Abu Dhabi.

Cambridge senior partner Ian Mather: “Eversheds’ expansion into Saudi Arabia is key to the firm’s international growth strategy.

“Over the last couple of years, we have focused on the development of our operations in the Middle East and Asia. Saudi Arabia is the biggest economy in the Gulf Cooperation Council.  The government there has ambitious plans for the development and diversification of the country.

“There are huge potential opp-ortunities there for international businesses including those based in East Anglia looking to diversify in the Middle East.”

Eversheds has been named AIM Lawyer of the Year at the Growth Company Investor Awards 2009. Eversheds beat law firms Charles Russell, Field Fisher Waterhouse, Hammonds, Kerman & Co and Pinsent Masons, which were also shortlisted for the award.

Growth Company Investor provides insight into the UK’s fastest growing companies listed on the markets including AIM, the most successful growth market in the world.

Eversheds has been working with AIM and its listed companies since the market’s inception in 1995 and is widely recognised as the leading law firm for high growth companies. It figured in the floats of Abcam and May Gurney.
