A young genomics company founded by a Cambridge University alumni is starting to gather momentum.
Eagle Genomics, a bioinformatics start-up, has named two new members of its board.
Dr Vernon Harten-Ash joins as a nonexecutive director and David O'Farrell as FD. Dr Harten-Ash is a veteran of the pharmaceutical industry and founded the Harten Group, one of Europe's leading providers of specialist consultancy support for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
David O'Farrell works primarily in practice jointly running the multi-disciplinary partnership Business Consultancy Services, which provides a range of accountancy services to various business sectors, including hi-tech and pharma.
Eagle Genomics was founded by managing director Abel Ureta-Vidal, a recent MBA graduate of the University of Cambridge's Judge Business School. It has done well since creation in May 2008 and has signed a number of new customers around the world, ranging from big pharmaceutical companies and internationally renowned research laboratories to small, commercial biotech firms.
Eagle currently employs a staff of four highly experienced software developers and bioinformaticians at is base on the Babraham Research Campus. Influential Cambridge entrepreneur, Professor Alan Barrell, is chairman.
