UK technology innovator Cambridge Consultants plans to more than triple its American headcount after moving its US headquarters.
It has lit the touchpaper to a Boston spree party by moving the HQ to a facility in the medical technology heartland that doubles space in the US engine room.
Now the company plans to grow US headcount from 32 currently to the 100 mark in the next three years with a strong emphasis on BioMedTech engineers and will trigger the campaign this autumn.
Cambridge Consultants has moved from Kendall Square in Cambridge MA to a 20,000 sq ft building in Atlantic Avenue, Boston.
The company believes the design of the facility will stimulate product innovation for its clients. It says the new space includes ‘realistic use environments’ – such as a simulated operating room – which “enable the team to gather unique insights that inform innovative product design.”
Industrial-grade facilities, such as an anechoic chamber, mechanical and electronics prototyping shops, human factors suite and creativity space, will further “allow faster and more precise product development to create disruptive technologies,” Cambridge Consultants adds.
David Bradshaw, the company’s US general manager, said that with deep expertise in the medical technology field the Boston office would expand the team specifically in this sector.

Cambridge Consultants engaged global planning and design firm Sasaki Associates to execute the company’s vision of a revolutionary workplace.
