Voice of the Valleys, Katherine Jenkins – famous for bringing opera to the masses – has just launched her new website thanks to a Cambridgeshire-based web design agency.
Isle Interactive in Ely, UK worked with Katherine and her record company Warner Music to come up with a site that allows her millions of fans to interact with the star, talk to each other and see all the latest news on their favourite artist. It’s another successful ‘score’ in the music world for Isle, which works with Warner to produce a lot of websites for their artists - among them Muse, Pendulum, Paolo Nutini, James Blunt and Phil Collins.
The new site – www.katherinejenkins.co.uk – has a host of features including:
• A live and interactive feed of Katherine's twitter account - this is unique as it picks up photos and videos posted by Katherine on her twitter feed and displays them online - it also updates instantly when Katherine adds a new tweet
• All Katherine’s latest videos and photos
• A list of up and coming tour dates which allows fans to say if they are going, allowing them to meet up before the gig to discuss their favourite pop star.
• A lively and active discussion forum
• A fully integrated fan shop selling music, downloads, merchandise and gig tickets
• A fan area where registered fans can gain access to exclusive news, videos, photos and products
Richard Copping, co-founder of Isle Interactive, said: “Since the new website launched we have had fantastic feedback from Katherine’s fans – the fans’ forum was full of comments with everyone really excited by the new features.
“Over the years, we have delivered many bespoke websites to national and local companies always bearing in mind that a successful website should work not just for the client but for the people using it – in this case the fans.
“Katherine’s fans will spend time using the site so we have worked hard to make sure it meets their needs, whether they are looking to buy a t-shirt, follow Katherine’s tweets or watch her latest video. It has been a real pleasure to work with Warner Music on this project over the last few months and we look forward to working on new exciting projects with them in the near future.”
Paul Seele, technical co-ordinator from Warner Brothers Records, added: “The team at Isle Interactive has the rare ability to present advanced technologies in a user friendly manner. Their attention to detail is incredible and we can always trust them to deliver beyond the brief. Katherine Jenkins fans love the new website and they have very high standards.”
