Time: 5.00-7.00pm Date: Wednesday 30 April 2008 Tips on Sourcing from Abroad and Import Procedures and Documentation Sourcing goods from foreign suppliers can be beneficial to your business, but the import process may prove costly and timely if you make mistakes with procedures or documentation. This seminar, brought to you by the Chambers' International Sector, will help both existing and potential importers to ensure that they do not incur needless cost and delays. During the session delegates will hear from Angela Stevens, owner of Dora Designs Ltd, who built up her business from home by sourcing foreign suppliers and importing high quality materials from abroad. She will be sharing tips on sourcing from abroad, and detail the practical points companies of all sizes should consider. Margaret Chadwick, Director of Chadwick Export Services, will then give an interactive presentation on import procedures and documents including the payment of import duties and VAT, tariff classification and temporary movement of goods issues including inward processing relief, returned goods relief and ATA carnets. Companies from all sectors who are considering importing products or are already involved in International Trade will benefit from this essential workshop and from sharing experiences with others. Light refreshments will be available on arrival, followed by the presentations, and the evening will come to a close at 7.00pm. There will be a table for Chamber members to display their business literature, together with information about Chamber Benefits and Services. Cost: £10.00 plus VAT Chamber members; £15.00 plus VAT non-Chamber members |
