Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) presents It’s a Knockout! a fun
team building event for local companies. It’s a Knockout is on Saturday
12th July 2008 on Parker’s Piece, Cambridge, held in conjunction with
Cambridge City Council’s Big Weekend.
It’s a Knockout! is an excellent team building event using water,
inflatables and costumes based on the 1970’s BBC TV show, and can
include games such as Banana Dash, Slippery Slope, Pinball Wizard,
Soccer Shoot-Out and Human Washing Machine!
Companies are invited to join ACT and sponsor, property company
Highland Ltd, at a fun packed day for their staff. There are 20 team
places available. Each team consists of ten people (eight players plus
two substitutes), and the team entry fee is £1,000 – that’s only £100
per person! Team members are asked to encourage their friends, families
and colleagues to support them through sponsorship and by cheering them
on at the event. There will be two trophies up for grabs: overall team
winner and the team who raises the most money.
The event is raising money for a much-needed portable CT scanner for
the Neurosciences department at Addenbrooke’s. Mr Peter Kirkpatrick,
Consultant Neurosurgeon, said: "The portable scanner will allow head
scans to be performed by the bedside, saving time and reducing the
hazards of taking very sick patients to a static facility. It is
urgently required."
