Barclays Wealth, a leading global wealth manager, has boosted its East Anglia presence with a new office in Norwich and is set to replicate the move in Cambridge.
It is being led by Simon Smith, regional manager of East Anglia. As part of a more focused integrated offering from Barclays, the Norwich based private banker team will co-locate with Barclays Corporate at St James's Court, Whitefriars alongside the new Barclays retail flagship Norwich branch.
Smith said: “Having a local wealth presence allows us to increase the amount of time we have to advise our clients through close proximity to either their home or place of work.
“The establishment of the private bank team in Norwich is driven by the opportunities derived from the wealth, corporate and retail businesses working closer together to offer our clients a broader array of personal and professional, lending, investment, and financial planning advice.”
David Semaya, head of UK & Ireland Private Bank, said the opening of the Norwich office represented the first phase in Barclays’ continued expansion of dedicated wealth services across the UK regions, “with a new combined office in Cambridge also following shortly.”
Barclays Wealth’s East Anglia team has grown to over 20 employees. This includes private bankers, investment managers, wealth advisers and credit specialists, providing bespoke wealth management solutions to clients across the region.
