N&P creates 40 new jobs

The company has put up a huge sign outside its HQ flagging up the employment opportunity.

Yorkshire Building Society, which merged with Norwich & Peterborough Building Society (N&P) last November, is creating 40 new jobs in Peterborough.

The company – based on the Lynch Wood Business Park and in Peterborough city centre – has put up a huge sign outside its HQ flagging up the employment opportunity.

The customer service roles will include some managerial positions. All new recruits will largely be working on the well-known Egg savings and mortgages business, acquired by the Yorkshire last October.

Passers-by at Lynch Wood can’t help but notice the 2m x 8m wide board now outside N&P’s offices advertising the new jobs. Promotional staff will be calling into local shops and restaurants on the look-out for prospective applicants this week and on Friday and Saturday a stilt-walker and promotional staff will mingle with shoppers in Peterborough city centre to give out information on how to apply for the new roles.

Applications are especially welcome from people with service centre skills, ideally from a financial services background, however experienced customer service experts would be equally welcome to apply.

Sarah Jackson, head of Customer Service at Yorkshire Building Society, said: “We thought this would be an ideal way to get out there and make local people aware of the new jobs we’re offering at N&P.”
