An udder deal as Tesco buys into Essex milkshakes

Hot on the hooves of its recent success with Sainsbury's, Essex-based milkshake brand Shaken Udder has won a major contract to supply Tesco.

The UK company says the deal will see its business grow exponentially. No value has been disclosed.

From tomorrow, over 400 Tesco stores up and down the country will feature the funky cow brand that has become famous with festival-goers and milkshake enthusiasts across the country.

“This deal is a dream come true,” says co-founder Jodie Farran, who set up the business with her husband Howie in 2004. “The Sainsbury's contract saw our business literally double overnight; this will see it double again.”

Farran said  the new deal was a case of being in the right place at the right time.“A new buyer was appointed in the spring so we decided to approach her with Shaken Udder. She was blown away by the product and just a few months later a deal had been done.”

Tesco will be stocking Strawberry Stash and Chocolush, along with a brand new flavour, Vanillalicious, that will be exclusive to the multiple.

Farran said: “It's been two years since we launched a new flavour and it is brilliant to be able to do it in Tesco where we'll be able to attract a whole new customer base.”
