Robert Garner, chairman of the Traditional Farm Fresh Turkey Association and farmer at Godwick Turkeys in Tittleshall, King’s Lynn has announced three traditional turkey tastings in the region.
Two will take place at La Hogue farm shop in Chippenham, (nr Newmarket, Ely, Cambridgeshire, CB7 5PZ,) on Saturday (November 5 and Sunday November 6 from 10am-3pm.A third will take place at Knights Hill farm shop in Kings Lynn, (Knights Hill Roundabout, Grimston Road, Kings Lynn, PE30 3HQ,) on Saturday, November 12 from 10am-1pm.
At all three events visitors will be able to taste for themselves the succulence of a Godwick Farm, traditionally reared, turkey.
Robert, whose turkeys roam free range at his farm and are supplied to leading chefs around the UK, will be demonstrating why his farm fresh turkeys, which are hand-plucked and hung in the traditional way, are full of flavour and retain their succulence once cooked.
He will also be announcing a new service enabling home delivery to customers, which he hopes will make life much easier for shoppers on the busy run-up to Christmas Day.
He said: “If shoppers prefer to have their Godwick Turkey delivered to them, we can deliver anywhere on the UK mainland and they don’t need to be at home to receive their turkey – just provide instructions as to where we can leave it. Or if they prefer, turkeys can be collected from their local butcher or from our farm gate.
“Buy buying direct from the farm, customers can often buy traditionally reared, farm fresh turkeys, at less than supermarket prices and with a whole difference in taste. Plus all of our turkeys are supplied boxed, with full cooking instructions, and a quality guarantee.”
