New technology from Antenova, the Cambridge UK integrated antenna and RF solutions company, has been rolled out to strengthen the company’s position in the embedded wireless and M2M markets.
Both markets are burgeoning and Antenova CEO, Greg McCray, believes the business has stolen another march in the innovation race.It has launched the Rubra A10393 cellular penta-band SMD antenna to its market leading gigaNOVA® range of surface mount standard antennas.
Designed for ease of integration into wireless devices, Rubra is described by McCray as ideally suited for an extensive range of embedded cellular applications such as tablets, tracking devices, femto base stations, remote monitoring and other M2M applications.
McCray said: “Antenova continues to enjoy increasing demand for high performing and easy to integrate standard cellular antennas for the ever expanding embedded wireless and M2M markets.
“Rubra A10393 is a high performing cellular penta-band antenna incorporating Antenova’s patented Magnetic Dipole Antenna (MDA) technology that provides robust and reliable performance across all device applications – which is particularly essential for many M2M devices which are typically in situ for five to 10 years.
“Antenova’s standard penta-band antennas offer design flexibility with the ease of integration benefits of a surface mountable device, making them very attractive to module makers targeting the growing M2M markets and device manufacturers looking to add cellular connectivity into their products. Rubra has already been integrated into a cellular module reference design with the SIMCom SIM900 module.”
