Meridian Audio, the renowned British manufacturer of state-of-the-art audio and video entertainment systems, is bucking the national trend by announcing five newly-created posts at its Cambridgeshire headquarters in Huntingdon.
The latest roles, which are based within the manufacturing and commercial divisions, come as Meridian enjoys a period of international growth following the recent announcements that the company is opening 11 new boutiques in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Russia, and South America by the spring of this year.
The company is also supplying in-car entertainment systems to Range Rover models starting with the Evoque three and five-door variants.
Increasing wealth in emerging markets and a growing desire for quality British manufactured products, has resulted in demand regularly outstripping production for Meridian’s systems, hence the expansion of its existing 100-strong and highly-skilled workforce.
Meridian is currently advertising for two second stage PCB assemblers and two production operatives, in addition to the position of marketing co-ordinator (automotive), whose responsibilities will include working in conjunction with the Jaguar Land Rover group in the activation of campaigns, and the creation of co-branded collateral.
Meridian Audio’s chief marketing officer, Graeme Taylor, explains: “The latest recruitment programme is in response to the ever increasing demand for our audio and video systems from a rapidly global customer base and an enhanced presence in the automotive industry. This is clearly a boost for the local region and the UK’s manufacturing sector, at a time when many businesses are having to scale back their operations.”
