The staff of Newmarket Racecourse have been warmly praised after being given a second Gold Standard award by the Racehorse Owners Association.
The town's July Course has already received the accolade, and now the Rowley Mile is to be given it, too.
The award recognises overall excellence in the raceday experience for owners, their horses and stable staff. The Rowley Mile joins 14 other current holders of the coveted award, each of which is reviewed annually.
ROA Vice President Rachel Hood will present the commemorative plaque to the racecourse executive on Saturday 2 October during the climax to the three-day Cambridgeshire meeting featuring the historic totesport.com Cambridgeshire.
Newmarket's total prize-money for the past 12 months stands at almost £10.5million. Their executive and sponsorship contributions for the same period amount to more than 30% of their overall prize-money pool.
Their average prizemoney per fixture for the past 12 months, as listed in the Racing Post's statistical tables, stands at more than £271,000, putting them third among the Category A courses.
Steven Astaire, ROA Council member and Gold Standard Committee member, said: “We are very pleased to present the Gold Standard award to Newmarket's Rowley Mile course.
“Stephen Wallis and his team have worked closely with us to achieve it, and he has created a little bit of Gold Standard history having attained the award previously for both Epsom Downs and the July Course at Newmarket.
“The Rowley Mile's Gold Standard is well deserved and is a fitting testament to the high quality raceday experience offered to owners.”
Stephen Wallis, managing director of Newmarket Racecourse, said: "We are delighted to receive this prestigious award, as it is really important to all the staff that the facilities for owners should be amongst the finest in the country.
“This Gold Standard award recognises all of the work undertaken by the team to ensure that we offer first class facilities for owners, hostel accommodation, stabling and a racing surface second to none.
“It is an award for the people who work so hard to deliver a most excellent service to owners.”
