Streets opens in Stevenage
Leading top 40 UK accountancy practice, Streets Chartered Accountants, celebrated the opening of its new Stevenage office with a special reception with VIP guest Stephen McPartland, MP for Stevenage.
The reception was attended by over 70 people including Streets’ partners, staff and their guests, clients and other professionals from the local business community.Streets’ chairman and managing partner, Paul Tutin said: “It is a real pleasure to see so many people here today and to feel such a sense of welcome from the people of Stevenage and the surrounding area.“Streets, is a mid tier, top 40 UK accountancy practice and we are delighted to have chosen Stevenage’s contemporary Gateway 1000 business park to open our latest office to serve the town and Hertfordshire.“Streets was established in 1907, has nine offices in seven counties and is 31st in the UK accountancy league table.“We have a well developed client base in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire – much of which is based on the firm of Whitmarsh Sterland, a top UK 100 practice in its own right, which became a part of the Streets practice in 2008. “Based on our existing footprint in the area we were keen to develop our presence especially in Hertfordshire and north London. We have achieved this by splitting our established office in Bedfordshire and by providing members of our team across practice with the opportunity to take new roles and posts involved in establishing our new Stevenage office. “In addition to the team of support staff and technical staff, the Stevenage office initially has four main partners myself, Richard Couchman, Jon Day and Simon Hodgkin.“The opportunity to develop a new office and presence for Streets is an exciting one, as is the chance to become a part of the wider business community – not least because we feel we bring a fresh approach to accountancy and the profession as a whole.”Stephen McPartland MP added: “I was delighted to open the office of another new business here in Stevenage. It is vital that Stevenage is able to attract first class companies, such as Streets to the area. “Unemployment has been falling locally over the last six months and I am proud Stevenage is helping to lead the economy out of recession.”• PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS: Key figures at the opening of Streets’ new Stevenage office.
