Cambridge software startup in at the double

Cambridge Software Engineering Ltd has won its first two contracts – developing an extranet website for contract hire and leasing company Marshall Leasing, and providing applications support for Seymour Distribution, the largest independent UK distributor of magazines.

The contract to develop a new extranet website for Marshall Leasing will draw on Cambridge Software Engineering’s technical strengths in the development of business intelligence solutions using Microsoft technology.

In using Cambridge Software Engineering, Seymour is resourced with the technical skills and scalability it needs to support its distribution management systems.

Greg Hayden, IS Director for Seymour, said: “We were looking for a capable and flexible applications support company who could demonstrate technical strength as well as an ability to engage with business users to solve problems in a pragmatic and responsive manner.

“The team at Cambridge Software Engineering has been excellent, demonstrating an ability to develop a clear understanding of business needs and drivers whilst delivering excellent service at reasonable cost. Without question, they have been highly instrumental in supporting the business through some complex and challenging business change events.”

Nick Rogers, Cambridge Software Engineering’s managing director, added: “Winning these contracts demonstrates our ability to work alongside our customers, to understand their business problems and provide effective solutions that meet their needs.”

A recently formed start-up based in Cambridge, the team brings together over 60 years of commercial experience in software engineering and customer service that includes working with clients across the engineering, publishing, distribution, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical sectors.
