Print firm moves closer to Cambridge

Pedley Furnishings’ former factory complex on Shire Hill Industrial Estate, Saffron Walden

Nearly 40,000 sq ft in one of Saffron Walden’s largest factory complexes has been sold after a local firm, Pedley Furnishings International Limited, went into administration last year.

Printing industry suppliers McKinley’s has bought the space in order to move from Harlow and expand the business.

Located on Shire Hill Industrial Estate, the complex has been marketed on behalf of administrators FRP Advisory, the restructuring, recovery and insolvency specialist.

Philip Woolner of Cheffins is handling the marketing with joint agents Edward Symmons. He says: “This is a very significant freehold sale in the current economic climate and will be a major boost for Saffron Walden.

“We are optimistic about successfully disposing of the remaining part of the property. Overall, the site has attracted a wide range of interest.” Chartered surveyors Derrick Wade and Water of Harlow acted for McKinley’s.
