Foundry firm cherry-picks fruit warehouse

Omega Foundry Machinery Ltd

Omega Foundry Machinery Ltd has bought the former EuroDix fruit packing warehouse at Morley Way in Woodston, Peterborough.

The company is moving its engineering operation from Orton Southgate.

The premises was sold by City Trustees Ltd, represented by Savills and Barker Storey Matthews.

The property is arranged over two floors and comprises a 38,045 sq ft warehouse, office space equating to 4,140 sq ft located on the ground and first floor and a covered yard. The asking price was £1.5m.

Paul Farrow, director at Savills, said: “The unit at Morley Way offers a great combination of flexible warehouse and office space and we are very pleased with the price achieved for our client.”

Formed in 1984 from a management buyout from parent company Baker Perkins, Omega has specialised in the design and production of equipment aimed at the no-bake foundry industry.

In the last 27 years Omega has acquired and formed several strategic companies, including in the US and India.

Omega services foundries throughout Europe, Russia, Northern Africa, the Middle East, China, the Pacific Rim, Australia and portions of South America. North America, Canada, and Mexico is served by sister company, Tinker Omega.
