SJK Properties has war chest for fresh deals
In one of the largest investment deals over the last 12 months, Clifton Court, a multi-let office development of 29,000 sq ft, has been acquired by SJK Properties.
Clifton Court is a development of nine self-contained offices situated prominently off Hills Road, close to Cambridge Leisure, and includes tenants such as Barclays Bank, DANTE and Eurotech.Cheffins’ Philip Woolner said: “Since purchasing the property in April we are already in detailed negotiations with a number potential tenants. We believe Clifton Court will benefit further from the regeneration of this part of the city following on from CB1, the redevelopment of the former Tim Brinton garage/showroom site on Hills Road, opposite Clifton Court, and the proposed extension to Unex House.”
SJK Properties has now acquired four major properties in the past three years. It has bought Lockton House on Clarendon Road, a 30,000 sq ft office building let to a number of tenants including Cambridgeshire PCT’s Headquarters; Adkins Corner, a prominent mixed use site at the corner of Cherry Hinton Road and Perne Road with a Budgens supermarket and Kwik Fit as the major tenants; and 1-2 Brooklands Avenue, the former home to the Cambridge Probation Services.
SJK is seeking more opportunities to add to its portfolio and has set aside considerable funds.
