Stansted Airport lost its second US low fares business carrier inside three months when Eos Airlines filed for bankruptcy over the weekend. Sunday saw its last flights from the Essex hub to JFK and the entire workforce is due to be laid off.

The UK’s Competition Commission (CC) has warned that BAA’s common ownership of seven major UK airports may not be in the best interests of either airlines or passengers, suggesting that the eventual sale of one or more of its leading London airports is a distinct possibility.
