Domino rounded off an enjoyable evening at the East of England Business Awards at Queens’ College, Cambridge by scooping the Business of the Year title. The Cambridge company added the main Business of the Year prize to the Quoted Company of the Year award, achieved earlier in the evening.

Business Weekly’s Business of the Year accolade was chosen from all the shortlisted companies, with the judges looking for a ‘wow’ factor - strong management, products in demand, clear strategic focus and sustainable growth.

Domino finance director, Andrew Herbert returned to the stage to receive the trophy from Adrian Seagers of Awards sponsor, Birketts.

Seagers said: “We’ve already heard about Domino’s prowess in securing 32 years of consecutive growth. It also recently won the Company of the Year at the 2010 PLC Awards.

“Last year saw Domino make a record investment of £15.6 million in new products and that gives us confidence that it will achieve sustainable growth. More to the point, it has flown the flag for the UK in maintaining Number One slot for ink jet printing despite competition from two multi-billion dollar US corporations.”
