When Business Weekly named the low fares airline as Business of the Year, many felt that as an Irish based carrier, it should be excluded. But it was Ryanair’s decision to grow its empire from Stansted Airport that underpinned the entire growth of the Essex aviation hub. In the process Ryanair helped transform the East of England’s corporate travelling habits. Now it sets the standards for Europe and is a world leader based on passenger numbers.
