Oilennium on expansion drive

Janet Iglesias

Oilennium Ltd, which provides training programmes for the international oil and gas industry, is accelerating expansion in the United States from its Loddon, Norfolk HQ.

The company is also set to establish a presence in the Middle East.

With demand for its customised online and modular training programmes on the rise in the US, Oilennium has appointed Janet Iglesias as learning development specialist to support customers and drive business development initiatives throughout The Americas.

Based in Houston, Iglesias aims to further increase visibility of Oilennium in the industry, while building new relationships and providing existing customers with greater support. Kevin Keable, managing director of Oilennium, said: “As Houston is the gateway to the North American market, it is the perfect location.  With Janet as a permanent presence there, Oilennium is now able to offer customers in the region an even more prompt, efficient service.

“She is there to analyse their specific requirements and make recommendations about which learning solutions best meet their needs. The fact that she is in a position to consult face-to-face with the client, and then communicate what is needed immediately to our design team is absolutely key.

“The entire process is streamlined, and results are generated much more rapidly, creating a win-win situation for the client and for us.” With 17 years experience in education and the oil and gas industry, Iglesias will draw upon her experience to deliver effective training materials and educational tools for Oilennium’s clients.

Originally from Dallas, Iglesias previously worked for Weatherford International; she holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from California Pacific University.

Oilennium’s new equipment simulators have already proven successful in North America, so the company is confident that the fact they are so cost-effective will trigger a rapid rise in uptake.

Combined with Oilennium’s recent move to a much larger global headquarters in the UK, the recent expansion to Houston signals the way forward. The company plans to further strengthen its presence globally and discussions are currently underway to open an office in the Middle East.

Founded in 2000, Oilennium Ltd provides bespoke blended learning systems for companies operating in the international energy sector. Since 2004, more than 1,000 people have participated in classroom sessions and 75,000 around the world have access to Oilennium’s e-learning programmes which are available in up to 17 different languages.

Corporate clients include Weatherford International Ltd, Perenco, Halliburton, AMEC SES and the ECITB. Training sessions have been delivered in Mexico, Singapore, Houston, Brazil, the UK and Dubai.
