Next stop Suffolk for Exporting is Great roadshow

UKTI Exporting is Great roadshow

East of England businesses will be able to find out how to take advantage of more than 2,000 export opportunities currently available for UK businesses when UK Trade & Investment’s Exporting is GREAT Export Hub visits the Suffolk Show in Ipswich on June 1 & 2.

During the two days of the show at Trinity Park, Felixstowe Rd, visitors will be able to attend free seminars on the Export Hub, including on e-commerce and from UKTI partner BT, and also set up free one-to-one meetings with UKTI’s international trade advisers.

The Exporting is GREAT Export Hub is travelling the length and breadth of the country during 2016, providing face-to-face assistance to first-time exporters. On board is the latest technology from partners Microsoft and BT, which has already connected over 3,000 businesses with live export opportunities.

UKTI East regional director Alan Pain says: “This region is a global leader in some of the world’s fastest-growing and innovative sectors, such as agriculture, food & drink, creative industries, education & skills, ICT and life sciences. 

“The world wants to buy what we’re selling so come along to the Export Hub and you can find out how to go about it. The demand is out there. You could be too.”

The roadshow is part of Exporting is Great, the most ambitious exporting push that UK Trade & Investment has ever undertaken. 

Launched in November 2015, the Government’s five-year multi-platform initiative aims to support 100,000 additional UK businesses to sell their goods or services overseas by 2020. So far over there have been 590,000 visits and 1.9m page views of ; in excess of 21,900 downloads of the Exporting is GREAT export guide; and more than 23,200 applications to export opportunities.

Some of the current relevant business opportunities available are a German company seeking products including agricultural, earth moving, lift and other industrial vehicles, workshop equipment, car parts and accessories, commercial vehicle parts, trailers, caravans and mobile homes, chassis and fuel technology and batteries.

A leading Spanish manufacturer of fertilisers with more than 30 per cent market share is seeking providers of slow release nutrients and a large and well-known agricultural company in Lithuania is looking for livestock/farm equipment.

Further afield a well-known Peruvian importer and distributor is seeking UK suppliers of agricultural machinery, equipment and tools while an Australian technology startup developing an animal collar and phone app for beef and dairy farmers is looking to source services and products from the UK.

A major Brazilian livestock producer is also interested in purchasing technologies that help control the feed intake of its cattle herds.
