Named Business Weekly’s International Trade Champion in March 2017, DisplayLink develops hardware and software solutions to enable easy connectivity between monitors, virtual reality HMDs, and computing devices over standard interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, and wireless networks.
The company has grown to annual sales of over $100M, reinvesting 25 per cent of revenues in an ambitious R&D program, with 70% of its employees in engineering functions. Its customers include HP, Dell, Lenovo, Targus, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, HTC, ASUS, Logitech, Kensington, and other computer and consumer electronics companies.
Founded in 2003, DisplayLink now has more than 300 employees in Cambridge, UK, and across other offices in California, Poland, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.
DisplayLink chips are used in products deployed by enterprises globally, including applications in hot-desking, meeting rooms, and point of sale. Most recently, it delivered a wireless virtual reality solution for the market-leading HTC Vive Pro headset, and a wireless gaming adaptor for high-end Android smartphones in partnership with ASUS.
In April 2019 DisplayLink announced a significant commitment to a new 60,000 sq ft engineering design centre on the Cambridge Science Park to accommodate up to 500 employees, primarily engaged in integrated circuit and software development, as well as other corporate functions.
