Cranfield’s £8.6 million Middle East venture with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) for a world-leading aerospace research, development and manufacturing centre, which will include the DAE University, an aerospace institute and R & D facility, is underway.

DAE plans to create the world’s largest aviation hub and tackle a £228bn aviation market has turned to Cranfield to provide the expertise needed to underpin the hub’s specialist aerospace training institute.

Professor Minoo Patel, head of the School of Engineering, Cranfield University, said: “The development of the Middle East aerospace and aviation industry is accelerating, with the establishment of a specialised training institute being the next logical progression.
