Fresh harvest for Hewitsons with NFU reappointment

Deborah Sharples of Hewitsons

Hewitsons has been reappointed for a further three years as the NFU panel law firm for Bedfordshire and Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

The deal follows an intensive six-month review that considered legal services, fee structures and commitment to the organisation and its members – alongside feedback from NFU members and staff.

Hewitsons has been on the NFU panel since 2008 providing a wide range of legal services to members and working with local NFU representatives in the interests of the members.

Deborah Sharples (above), a partner at Hewitsons who has worked closely with the NFU over the last six years said: “Hewitsons are delighted to have been reappointed to the NFU panel, which is a testament to the depth and breadth of our expertise in rural matters. We greatly value our relationship with the NFU and with its members and look forward to continuing to work with them.”

NFU East Anglia regional director Robert Sheasby added: “Members are facing an ever-increasing regulatory burden so it’s essential we have the right firms in place on our legal panel, with strong agricultural and rural teams, to provide the support they need. During their time on the legal panel Hewitsons have helped members on a wide range of issues, from tenancy matters to succession planning, environmental regulations and farm diversification schemes.

“They have been retained on the back of their strength and depth in our industry and I’d like to congratulate them on their reappointment.”
