Automotive engineering body relocates to Stansted
FISITA, an international organisation for the automotive engineering profession, is relocating its global HQ to a new office park at the M11 Business Link in Stansted in November.
The move will provide FISITA with the additional office space required to continue its organisational growth while providing a more flexible and accessible meeting hub for its international members, through its close proximity to Stansted Airport. It will also create new jobs for the area.
Chris Mason (above), FISITA CEO, said: “I am delighted to have received board support to relocate FISITA’s headquarters to Stansted. This move gives us the space and improved connectivity with members required as we continue to modernise and develop services to our members around the world, positioning the organisation positively to move forward and deliver our recently approved plans for 2020 and beyond.”
As part of the move, FISITA will be supporting the local economy by recruiting four people into the organisation and will continue to look to the local employment catchment area and intends to become an active part of the local business community.
In support of the move, FISITA President, Paul Mascarenas said: “As an international membership organisation, FISITA needs to be well connected and accessible for our members.
“The Stansted head office will provide our UK-based team and members with a modern environment in which to work for many years to come. This is a smart move for our organisation and we are looking forward to becoming a valued part of the local community.”
FISITA represents more than 210,000 engineers in 37 countries. Established in 1948, it provides a global platform for knowledge exchange between the world’s automotive engineers. The body also coordinates beneficial working relationships between industry and academia and is a leading advocate for the education of young engineers, creating pathways for future talent through its established links with the industry.
FISITA’s international events programme contributes significantly toward the automotive engineering profession through delivery of the FISITA World Automotive Congress, FISITA World Automotive Summit and EuroBrake – the world’s largest braking technology conference and exhibition.
