Acambis announced that it met the deadline for the delivery of smallpox vaccines to the US government, a key target in meeting its 2006 revenue guidance. The company said it had successfully delivered 10 million doses of ACAM2000 smallpox vaccine to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in December, generating revenue of approximately £16m. Acambis expects to meet its 2006 revenue guidance of around £30m as a result.

The revenue will be recognised in the last quarter of 2006 and Acambis said it will receive payment in early 2007.
