West country police scour East of England for forensics talent

The Avon and Somerset Constabulary are one of 14 constabularies across the country that require Forensic Analytical Services.
Services, both laboratory and scene based, available for tender include:
DNA analysis and profiling of samples taken from individuals and/or biological samples recovered from crime scenes;
Examination and interpretation of body fluids, footwear, questioned documents, and drugs;
Toxicology including impaired driving, drugs and alcohol samples;
The development of fingerprints and other marks;
The classification of firearms;
Examination and interpretation of visual, audio data/recordings, and mobile telephones/communication devices;
Fire investigation, road traffic incident investigation and ecology services.
Companies that are interested in applying for tender documents must register their interest via the www.bluelight.gov.uk website referencing contract number AVN/PLN/6KSDKN.
Procurement of these services will be based on an individual case-by-case basis.
The closing date for applications for tender documents is noon 21st July 2006.
